The challenge

The expertise of Safran Landing Systems covers the entire life cycle of its products, from conception to production, to maintenance and repair. The company provides support services for 25,000 planes, carrying out more than 40,000 landings each day.

The solution offered

Personalised support

Safran Landing Systems has chosen Actimage to support it during the conception and redesign of its web portal for client support. The goal of this redesign is to improve monitoring and enhance the services offered to clients via the portal. Working with the agile method, Actimage’s objective in this project is to carry out a feasibility study and to propose a navigable prototype for a future portal.

Needs analysis

Safran Landing Systems welcomed outside opinions and met its users prior to the start of the project to determine the necessity of the redesign. This allowed us to organise user workshops with the same people to assess user needs.

Following these workshops, we identified “personas”. A persona is a fictional individual with a series of attributes filling out his or her profile to better express the characteristics of the target group (behaviour, skills, expectations). The next step was to draft the model route for the different personas.

Development of a solution

Once the needs assessment had been carried out and validated with Safran Landing Systems, the practical phase of the project started: : implementation of the solution via wireframes, graphic models and a prototype. These different tasks enable the visual structuring of information, the foregrounding of possible actions on the portal, and the illustration of the end solution.

All of the work carried out will aid Safran Landing Systems during the technical conception.

  • Agile support
  • Implementation of UX workshops
  • Definition of target groups (personas)
  • Report on use cases and user journeys
  • Creation of graphic models
  • Demonstration of the concept via a navigable prototype
  • Feasibility study
  • Benchmark of technical solutions
  • Projected budgeting for implementation

William

Project manager

In order to support Safran Landing Systems in the expression and modelling of its needs, we immersed ourselves in its extremely rich culture of communication and information. Undertaking collaborative workshops, consultation through the identification of personas, and our analyses, played a major role in the successful outcome of the final model.
